PROLONGED DAMAGING DOWNBURST, HAVERHILL, MA - JUNE 27, 2008

Posted as current weather observation to northeast.nationalweatheronline.com. One of the strongest thunderstorms in recent memory swept through the northern part of Haverhill, Massachusetts on the afternoon of June 27, 2008 at 4 PM. This video documents the downburst associated with the storm, which topple trees and tree limbs, knocked out power to many, and produced numerous cloud to ground lightning strikes. Perhaps the most notable feature was the length of the downburst, totaling approximately three and a half minutes.
